Hanwei's Tori Tanto is an elegant piece with a blade forged from K120C powder steel, a material that is known for its homogeneity and even carbon distribution. After differential heat treatment and clay tempering, the blade has properties similar to 1095 high carbon steel, but with improved durability and edge retention. This also adds to the sword's aesthetics as it produces a beautiful midareba hamon and jihada that is easily visible. This tanto's blade also has a bohi that helps to decrease the overall weight while improving its point of balance without compromising the structure and integrity of the dagger.

Equipped with premium fittings including the fuchi, kashira, seppa, habaki, and menuki detailed in gold (color), some of these koshirae carries the Crane and Armour theme. The tsuka of this tanto is wrapped in the highest quality white same, contrasting with the textured brown of the saya. Completing the overall design is a sageo that matches the color of the saya.
