Qing Jian Damascus Steel Sword Folded Pattern

The "Fushou Sword" is a double-edged, straight Jian blade, widely used during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), especially in the Southern regions. Its name, Fushou, derives from many incorporated Chinese bat elements symbolizing good life and fortune. Created from traditionally folded pattern steel, the sword boasts 8192 vibrant blade layers dancing along its length.

The blade undergoes a water quenching process, differential heat treatment by clay tempering, and sports a genuine hamon line. The handle and scabbard, both made of dark ebony wood, are adorned with brass or copper fittings. An opened shape handguard, with quillons turned toward the user's hand, and a traditional tassel hanging from the pommel add to the sword’s rich design.
