Dragon King Shi Katana Death Skull Guard

Dragon King's Shi Katana is a grim and terrifying piece, emitting ominous and sinister vibes to intimidate one's foe. Forged from T10 alloy, the resulting blade has properties similar to a 1095 high carbon steel blade, but with improved strength and edge retention due to the presence of additional silicon in the material. Differentially hardened T10 alloy also produces a more vibrant hamon compared to other steels, accentuating the overall aesthetics of the katana.

As inferred from its name, "Shi" or "Si", meaning death, this katana is equipped with a macabre looking skull shaped tsuba with a black finish and kanji embossed fuchi kashira. Other fittings also include a silver finished habaki and seppa.

In line with the theme, the wooden core tsuka for this piece is first covered with black samegawa held in place by black tsuka ito, providing a stark contrast that allows the silver finished triple skull menuki to stand out. Last but not least, this chilling sword is completed by a textured matte black saya fitted with buffalo horn kurigata and a black sageo.
