Dragon King Tenka Fubu Katana Nobunaga Motif

Dragon King’s Tenka Fubu Katana is a visually distinctive piece inspired by Oda Nobunaga, one of Japan’s three great unifiers during the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama period. Designed as a tribute to his legacy, it combines traditional construction with historically themed details that make it especially appealing for collecting and display.

The katana is forged from T10 alloy steel and differentially hardened, creating a strong blade with excellent edge retention. This heat-treatment process also produces a prominent hamon, further enhanced through polishing for added visual definition.

Its fittings continue the Nobunaga theme with carefully considered historical motifs. The tsuba depicts Oda Nobunaga’s kabuto, while the fuchi features a battle flag and war fan commemorating his 1560 victory at Dengakuhazama. The kashira presents the kabuto of Takeda Shingen, and the menuki reflect Nobunaga’s appreciation for poetry and tea.

Built in the traditional manner, the wooden core tsuka is wrapped in white samegawa and secured with brown tsuka-ito. Completing the piece is a red lacquered saya fitted with buffalo horn kurigata and kojiri, along with a brown sageo.

With its blend of historical inspiration, refined finishing, and traditional materials, the Tenka Fubu Katana is a compelling addition to a Japanese sword collection or display.
