PRODUCT DETAILS

During the early Middle Ages, the sword was considered to be not only a weapon, but also a status symbol with a connection to its wielder. As its name suggests, Hanwei's Tinker Early Medieval Sword is designed by Michael "Tinker" Pearce to be single handed Oakeshott Type XII pieces. While both sharpened and unsharpened versions of the sword are available, this listing is for the Tinker Early Medieval Sword with a blunt blade, making it suitable for sparring and training.

Forged from 5160 spring steel, the blade has a broad and flat fuller to move the mass towards the edges for safety reasons while retaining its handling characteristics and performance.

To replace worn sparring blades, Hanwei also offers blunt replacement blades (OH2407). The sharpened replacement blade (OH2406) can also be used to convert this sword into a battle ready weapon. For the sword with a sharpened blade, refer to Tinker Early Medieval Sword (SH2404).
