Windlass Confederate Cavalry Officer’s Saber

This is an accurate replica of a Confederate Cavalry Officer's Saber once wielded by General Jo Shelby, the Missouri cavalry raider who never surrendered once in combat. It is a sword that resulted from many experiments with designs, culminating in a wider and softer curved blade with a double-edged tip allowing for powerful slashes and thrusts, either on foot or while mounted.

This American saber is made out of 1095 high carbon steel, a material known for its toughness and durability. The blade is flexible and ornamented with decorations such as "C.S.A." crisply acid-etched along the first half of the blade. It has a fuller ending near the tip, which turns into a reinforced mid-rib.

The one-handed grip is protected by a basket. The handle has a smooth leather wrap twisted around with brass wire, just as the original did. The guard has "C.S." cast onto it for even more accurate detailing.

This sword comes with its own scabbard made out of steel that has been properly blued. It features a brass throat, mounts, rings, and drag, and is as real as the original.

Everything on this sword is made with the same materials as the original had. It can even be sharpened for an additional fee so that it cuts as the original did.
