PRODUCT DETAILS

Shadow Dancer's 9260 Steel Naginata Wakizashi offers a luxurious appearance at an affordable price. The blade profile, named Naginata, originates from the Edo Period practice of smelting down and shortening long Naginata blades into katana and wakizashi, while preserving their core characteristics.

The naginata zukuri blade is forged from 9260 steel, a high silicon spring alloy known for its strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. The blade undergoes oil quenching and features a bohi to reduce weight and improve balance.

This wakizashi is equipped with an iron maru gata tsuba, and brass fuchi and kashira with intricate designs. The koshirae, including the menuki, seppa, and habaki, are also made of brass. The blade is secured to the Haichi style tsuka with one mekugi.

The tsuka is covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito for a sturdy and comfortable grip. The handle can include hishigami, small folded paper triangles placed under the tsuka-maki wrap to uphold its shape and provide a firmer grip.
