Shadow Dancer 1095 Steel Hitatsura Style Hamon Katana

Showcasing the marvel and beauty of Japanese sword art, this Shadow Dancer katana’s stunning shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from 1095 high carbon steel and differentially heat treated to produce a keen edge that retains well and an intensely dynamic hitatsura (entirely tempered) hamon brought to life by Kesho polishing. 

Unlike other swords, a katana with hitatsura hamon offers unmatched visual artistry—akin to flickering flames of fire, greater scratch resistance on the blade surface, and excellent termination should a crack arise.

This beautiful blade has premium fittings—including an iron maru gata (round) sukashi (openwork) tsuba, along with brass fuchi, kashira, and menuki—with mitsudomoe, 三ツ巴 (traditional symbol with three interlocking comma-like swirls within a circle) motifs, symbolizing cosmic harmony and the cycle of life. It is also linked to Hachiman, the Shinto God of War who is the patron of the samurai. Additional gold-toned copper seppa and habaki add warmth and contrast to the katana’s overall appearance. 

One mekugi secures the full tang blade to the wooden core Haichi style tsuka covered in white genuine samegawa wrapped tightly using Japanese imported cotton ito for a durable and comfortable grip. The addition of hishigami (folded paper wedges) with the option of upgrading to the pro version ensures an even more durable and solid grip with improved edge alignment. 

This spectacular blade comes sheathed in a glossy oil lacquered saya with brass shitodome and thickened sageo.
