Windlass Gettysburg Battle 1860 Light Cavalry

A faithful and historically accurate reproduction of the Model 1860 Light Cavalry Union Saber, this sword's design, inspired by an earlier French curved saber made in Europe, gained popularity in the American Northern states. These swords, light and effective, played crucial roles in key battles such as the Battle of Manassas (1861), the Battle of Antietam (1862), and the Battle of Gettysburg (1863).
The sword is forged from 1065 high carbon British military spec steel, allowing it to bend or flex over 20° and return to its original shape. Its blade features a fuller, and the handle, wrapped in leather and cord, is secured under a knuckle guard for safety. Designed with minimal decorations to maintain practicality, the sword is fully functional for cutting tests.
