Shadow Dancer Premium Musashi Katana with Folded Steel

This Advanced Musashi Katana from Shadow Dancer pays tribute to Miyamoto Musashi, a Japanese strategist, philosopher, and writer who is renowned for his swordsmanship, being undefeated in 61 duels. Considered a kensei (sword saint), he was known to have invented the double ring tsuba.

This katana's shinogi zukuri (curved blade with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade is forged from folded steel, differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Kesho (cosmetic) polished to reveal the beautiful jihada and gunome (waves) hamon. The blade is secured to the tsuka with one mekugi.

Due to its concept, it is fitted with the traditional double iron ring tsuba; blackened brass fuchi, kashira, menuki; and copper seppa and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is covered in white samegawa and wrapped with kapok ito from Japan. Finishing the design is the glossy saya fitted with horn koiguchi, kurigata, kojiri, brass shitodome, and artificial silk sageo from Japan. The handle includes hishigami, small folded paper triangles placed under the tsuka-maki wrap to uphold its shape and provide a firmer grip
