Citadel Wolf Katana – Limited Edition Battle Ready Modern Marvel

Citadel is well-known in the industry for producing high-end Japanese swords forged by hand. As expected of the brand, this Wolf Katana is a testimony to their vision of staying true to traditional craftsmanship. Limited to only 100 worldwide, it is a worthy addition to any collection. 

Its shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from DNH7 high carbon steel, a material known for creating blades that have an extremely sharp edge with superior edge retention while offering a good balance of strength and durability. 

The differential heat treatment process the blade undergoes also yields a beautiful midare (irregular) hamon accentuated through hand polishing. The addition of a bohi decreases the katana’s overall weight, improves its point of balance, and enhances the clarity of its tachikaze (the whistling sound the blade makes when cutting).

This masterpiece comes equipped with high quality fittings—including an iron maru gata (round) tsuba featuring a wolf, representing loyalty, intelligence, and protection. In Japan, wolves are also seen as guardians and spiritual messengers of the kami (gods). Aligning with the theme is a beautiful menuki with the design of a crescent moon in the clouds. 

For maximum comfort and durability, the katana’s wooden core handle is covered in white samegawa wrapped tightly using leather tsuka ito in the katate maki (battle wrap) style. This beautiful katana comes sheathed in a lacquered scabbard with buffalo horn fittings (koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri).
