Katana Black Steel Oil Quenched Iron Koshirae

This Katana sword is a replica of the beloved edged weapon used by legendary samurai. It features a dark and red motif that symbolizes a mix of sacrifice and joy. The sword is crafted from 1060 high carbon steel. It has undergone heat treatment and quenching to achieve ideal flexibility and hardness. Additionally, special treatment gives the blade a strong dark color to protect it from rust.

This full-tang sword has increased stability thanks to being double-pegged. It features a bohi (groove) that lightens its weight and produces a tachikaze (sound feedback) during slashing. The wooden handle is wrapped with rough rayskin under a tight, tsuka-maki (wrap) made of fiber. The hardwood scabbard is lacquered to achieve a mirror-like shine.

Iron, copper, brass, and alloy comprise the fittings, and the sword can be fully disassembled for maintenance. As an affordable Katana, it is ideal for a dojo, suitable for functional cutting practice, or use as a cosplay piece.
