The Sakura flower is one of Japan's most significant and important symbols. It represents the contrast between life and death, beauty and violence, and was very popular with the samurai, who faced the danger of death before each battle. This is a Japanese katana sword featuring a sakura flower motif.

It is crafted from L6 tool steel, a material known for its durability in cutting practice and training. It has a hardness level of 59, which offers the right balance between hardness and ductility, ideal for a blade of this size. The sword has been traditionally hardened using ancient clay tempering methods, similar to those used by the samurai. The result is a very tough edge and a flexible spine, as well as a playful hamon dancing across the blade.

These katana swords come with a bohi, or a groove. This reduces the blade's overall size, improves balance for swinging, and produces a louder tachikaze, or sound of a perfect slash.

The handle is made of wood and tightly wrapped with real samegawa ray skin and real silk. It is covered in a samurai-favored tsuka-maki with diamond patterns. The handle is also decorated with the Japanese flower and has one peg, making it easily dismountable and mountable.

It comes with its very own wooden scabbard with a sageo cord that can be tied around the user's belt. The scabbard is lacquered and made with earthy tones to complement the spring theme in which the sakura flower blossoms.
