Musashi Koshirae Crucible Steel Katateuchi

Shadow Dancer's Musashi Koshirae Crucible Steel Katateuchi stays true to the principle of finding beauty in simplicity. The clean and elegant design of this katana highlights the meticulously crafted components of the sword.

With a shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade forged from crucible steel and clay tempered, the blade is durable, has excellent edge retention, along with a beautiful gunome (waves) hamon that accentuates the overall appearance of the sword. The addition of a bohi also helps to decrease the overall weight of the sword and improves its point of balance.

As its name suggests, this katana comes equipped with an iron double ring tsuba, a design once created by Musashi himself. Some experts even suggest that the design contains exactly 5 rings, a representation of Musashi's Go Rin Philosophy. Other high quality fittings include brass fuchi, kashira, menuki, along with copper seppa and habaki.

A mekugi secures the blade to the wooden Haichi style tsuka covered with white genuine samegawa while the tsukamaki uses Japanese imported cotton and hishigami to ensure a tight and comfortable grip. The katana is then completed with an oil lacquered saya fitted with brass shitodome and thickened sageo.
