    Our Basket-Hilt Backsword is a faithful reproduction of an original Highland sword from around 1760. The blade design reflects the transition from double-edged broadswords to single-edged backswords during that period. 

    The stainless steel basket hilt features twin engraved "horned beastie" plaques, while the high-carbon steel blade showcases twin fullers along its length. The grip is wrapped with genuine rayskin and wire, providing a secure and comfortable hold. The hilt and blade are meticulously crafted to ensure authenticity. The scabbard is covered in leather, completing the historical appearance. 

    This sword captures the essence of Highland weaponry during the time of the Battle of Culloden, combining traditional design with modern materials for durability and ease of maintenance.
