Shadow Dancer Crucible Gunome Hamon Clay Temper Sashikomi Polishing Katana

Shadow Dancer's Crucible Steel Gunome Clay Temper Sashikomi Polish Katana is an imposing piece, with a shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade. As expected from its name, the blade is forged from Crucible steel, differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Sashikomi polished to reveal a beautiful suguha (straight) hamon. This blade has a real yokote and is secured to the handle with one mekugi.

It is then equipped with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba and brass fuchi Kashira that features ornate designs. It also comes with a brass menuki along with copper seppa and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is first inlaid with white genuine samegawa and wrapped with artificial silk ito. The handle can include hishigami, small folded paper triangles placed under the tsuka-maki wrap to uphold its shape and provide a firmer grip.

The overall design of the katana is completed with an oil lacquered saya mounted with brass shitodome and thick sageo.
