Exuding quiet authority, its _shinogi-zukuri_ (ridge-backed) blade is forged from 1095 carbon steel and honed to an exceptionally sharp edge, recommended for experienced practitioners seeking performance and precision.

The differentially hardening process the blade goes through results in a midare (irregular) hamon that is visually striking. Additionally, the blade has a bohi (fuller) which decreases the sword’s overall weight, improves its point of balance, and produces a more defined tachikaze.

As its name suggests, this katana is equipped with blackened fittings with hints of gold, including a maru gata (round) tsuba with sea wave motifs—symbolizing life, nature, and overcoming adversity.

In keeping with traditional construction, one mekugi secures the blade to the wooden core hilt covered in white samegawa and wrapped tightly in dark brown rayon tsuka ito in the katatemaki style. Bringing together the overall design is a glossy brown lacquered saya with flecks of gold and a matching sageo.
