Shadow Dancer 9260 Steel Katana Moroha-Zukuri

This beautiful piece from Shadow Dancer features a kissaki moroha zukuri blade forged from 9260 steel, oil quenched, and machine polished.

The Kissaki-Moroha-Zukuri (blade style) introduced in the Nara period (late 8th century) has a tip sharpened on both sides. Although the hamon is artificial, the blade includes a bohi to reduce weight and improve balance. The blade is secured to the hilt with one mekugi.

Despite its affordable price, the sword comes equipped with a beautiful alloy tsuba, fuchi, and kashira with ornate designs, while the seppa and habaki are made of brass. The Haichi style tsuka is covered in white genuine samegawa and wrapped in artificial silk ito.

The handle can include hishigami, small folded paper triangles placed under the tsuka-maki wrap to uphold its shape and provide a firmer grip.

The blade is sheathed in an oil-lacquered saya with alloy shitodome to prevent the thick sageo from fraying.
