Armorer’s Folded Steel Katana

This Armorer's Katana is one of the latest additions from Bugei—a functional and battle-ready replica made in honor of the legendary sword maker from Japan’s Edo Period (17th–19th century), Nagasone Kotetsu. His craftsmanship was unmatched and often recognized by his swords' ability to cut through Japanese kabuto (helmets).

The Armorer's Katana is made of real high-carbon steel, folded in traditional Japanese style using a mixture of T10 tool steel and 1055 carbon steel—striking a balance between flexibility and toughness. This process also creates an interesting grain pattern across the blade. It has been traditionally clay-tempered to produce a real O-Choji hamon, hardening the edge.

The handle is traditionally crafted with premium Japanese cotton ito, wrapped around real rayskin in a diamond pattern known as hineri-maki.

It comes with its own wooden scabbard, lacquered for a shiny and reflective finish. The fittings are made of horn—a traditional material chosen for its durability and light weight.
