Shadow Dancer Tyrannosaurus Basic Musashi Katana – Oil Quenching

Inspired by the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, the Basic Musashi Katana features a shinogi zukuri (flat ground) blade forged from high carbon spring steel, oil quenched, and mirror polished. Although it does not have a hamon (temper line), the blade includes a bohi (groove) to reduce weight and improve balance. The blade is secured to the hilt with a mekugi (bamboo peg).

This katana includes a double iron ring tsuba (handguard), blackened brass fuchi (collar), kashira (pommel), menuki (ornamental grips), brass seppa (spacers), and brass muji habaki (blade collar). The Haichi style tsuka (handle) is covered with white samegawa (ray skin) and wrapped with kapok ito (Japanese cotton wrap). The katana is sheathed in a saya (scabbard) with brass shitodome (end caps) to prevent the thick sageo (cord) from fraying.
