Ronin Katana Entry Level Model #5

This Katana from Ronin Katana is their Model#5, forged from 1045 steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered to produce a hardened edge that stays sharp while maintaining a flexible spine to allow the sword to absorb impact without breaking when in use. The blade is secured to the handle with two pins and also features a hamon (temper line) due to the tempering process.

Equipped with zinc alloy fittings, the tsuba (guard), fuchi (hilt collar), kashira (pommel cap), and menuki (decorative hilt ornaments) are black and gold, giving the katana a distinguished look. The tsuka (handle) has a genuine white same (rayskin) inlay held in place with the tsukamaki using a black cotton ito (handle wrap). The overall look of the katana is completed with a black glossy lacquered saya and black cotton sageo.
