    Refined and graceful, Dragon King’s Baika Tanto is both a decorative and functional piece that is a worthy addition to any collection. 

    The hira zukuri (flat and ridgeless profile) blade has a san mai (three-layer) construction—where the hard high carbon steel forms the blade’s hard edge and two layers of softer steel forms the jacket on both sides, enhancing the flexibility and toughness of the blade. Combined with the addition of a bohi, the resulting blade is lightweight, agile, and has superior edge retention.

    This hamidashi tanto has premium blackened fittings with gold-toned plum blossoms—including a small tsuba, fuchi, and kashira—symbolizing resilience, enlightenment, and good fortune. 

    The wooden core handle is wrapped only with white samegawa. Known as samegawa zutsumi, this handle style provides a textured and secure grip and is often a desired choice for collectors for its added aesthetic appeal.

    Completing this piece is a glossy lacquered scabbard with a matching sageo.
