Z-Tuff Steel High Performance Katana

The Z-Tuff Steel High Performance Katana from Shadow dancer is a formidable and dignified looking piece with a shinogi zukuri (curved with yokote and shinogi close to the mune) blade forged from Z-Tuff steel. Produced by ZAPP, this tool steel is toughest among all powder steels with a hardness of around 60 HRC and is known for its durability, wear-resistance, and strength. Due to the vacuum heat treatment or oil quenching process, this katana does not have a hamon. The blade is then mirror polished by hand.

Aligning with the focus on quality and durability, this katana is equipped with an iron maru gata (round or circular) tsuba, brass seppa with a silver finish, and cupronickel fuchi, kashira, menuki, and habaki with an antique finish.

A mekugi secures the full tang blade to the wooden Haichi style tsuka with artificial silk tsuka ito tightly wrapping the white genuine samegawa and hishigami pro in place. This masterpiece comes sheathed in an oil lacquered saya fitted with cupronickel shitodome and thickened sageo.
